Most people will now have seen the story shared on social media of the young dolphin tragically killed in Argentina. Tragically is the appropriate word as the animal died needlessly, unnecessarily and completely because of human idiocy. According to numerous eye witness reports the young dolphin was taken from the water for a selfie, then a mass of other individuals gathered around the creature to get their own pictures. The beach goers passed the dolphin around as if it was a trophy, a toy. Eventually the dolphin died, most likely of dehydration as dolphins cannot be kept above water for a great deal of time due to their greasy skin. The dolphin was then discarded on the beach, with none of the selfie kings or queens having the slightest bit of brain power to put it back in the water to see if the dolphin was alive or dead.

A photo taken of tourists passing around the dolphin. Many photos such as this one have emerged across various social media platforms. All of which being met with anger and contempt.
The simple fact that none of the people relaxing on the beach that day had an inclination to think the dolphin might not be particularly safe out of the water for such a long time, you know since they live in the sea and all, is worrying. Many news outlets reported the story and the one silver lining which has come from this tragedy is that it may cause vain morons to think about their actions somewhere down the line.
Rest in peace little dolphin, you were taken to soon!
